Gluten Free Shamrock Bread

Gluten Free Shamrock Bread

May the luck of the Irish be with you… along with a little fun and pleasure in making and eating these delicious shamrock cheese rolls.  Chēbē is gluten free and completely grain free, so everyone will enjoy these little pots of gold!

We suggest using our Pizza Crust Mix, or maybe the Focaccia Bread Mix, as the green herbs in the mix will show a little of that St. Patty’s touch. However, any of the Chebe flavors will work just fine.

Ingredients
  • 1 package (7.5 oz) Chebe Pizza Crust Mix, or other Chebe variety
  • 4 Tbsp milk or milk substitute
  • 2 oz shredded cheese sharp cheese work really well
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 large eggs + 1 egg for egg wash
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Using a fork, blend Chebe Pizza Crust Mix with the water, cheese, oil and eggs.
  3. Knead dough with hands until it is smooth.
  4. With a heart-shaped cookie cutter and on top of a baking pan, press in a piece of dough to about ½” high. Push the shaped dough through the cutter. This shapes the first leaf of the shamrock. For each shamrock, make 3 leaves and form the stem by hand. Arrange each of the four pieces in the shape of a shamrock. Continue until all of the dough is used.

  5. Make the egg wash by blending well one egg with 2 Tbsp water. Brush the shamrocks with the egg wash.
  6. Bake 20 minutes until lightly browned. Serve and enjoy.
Recipe Notes

Have some oil handy to grease the cookie cutter so that the pressed dough slides easily through it.

Egg wash works well to make the finished bread more golden and a little more crusty. However, you may omit this step if you wish.

This recipe works great with Chēbē Pizza Crust Mix, but you may also try it with these Chēbē Mixes:
