Chēbē Cherry Bars are easy to make and so delicious! Naturally gluten and grain free, they are also free of most allergens. As always with Chēbē, you have control over much of what goes into the final product. So, no more excuses to not enjoy cherry bars!
- 1/2 cup butter or dairy free margarine, room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, or aquafaba*
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 package (7.5 oz) Chebe All Purpose or Original Mix
- 1 can cherry pie filling, sugar free
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
Slowly blend in the Chebe All Purpose Bread mix or Original Bread mix.
Place half of the batter in a lightly greased 8x8 inch pan.
Bake 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and top with the cherry pie filling and randomly drop portions of the rest of the batter on top.
Bake for 45-50 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting. May be topped with powdered sugar or a powdered sugar glaze.
*For an egg-free version, use 6 Tbsp aquafaba.
With this recipe we used the Original Chebe mix. You could use any filling you wish. Apple or blueberry would be great. You may also top it with a bit of cinnamon sugar for added flavor.
For a 9x13 pan, double the recipe.
