Grain-Free Baked Brie

Grain-Free Baked Brie

If you’ve never tried Baked Brie, get ready to love something new! Baked Brie is an amazing holiday appetizer. This holiday dish is easier than it looks, (because it looks so gourmet) and since this one is made with Chēbē dough, it is deliciously gluten and grain free.

It is brie perfection when the golden Chēbē wraps around the melty, creamy baked wheel filled with a scattering of honey, nuts, and chopped dried cherries or cranberries.

So, it’s true what they say on the street… baked brie is a must for every holiday party and meal!

Ingredients
Dough
  • 1 pkg., 7.5 oz Chēbē Garlic-OnionBreadstick mix, or other savory flavor (no cheese added)
  • 4 Tbs Milk
  • 2 Eggs, large
  • 2 Tbs Cooking oil
Filling
  • 1 Brie wheel
  • ½ tsp Raw honey
  • 2 Tbs Chopped cherries or cranberries, dry
  • 2 Tbs Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 Tbs water or milk)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a glass baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare Chēbē dough according to package directions. Blend the dough until it is smooth in texture. (Do not add cheese.)

  3. Divide the Chēbē dough into two equal balls. On a lightly floured work surface, roll each dough ball into flat rounds that are about an ⅛” thick.

  4. Using a sharp, thin knife, cut the brie wheel in half (horizontally) so that you have a top round and bottom round of the wheel (open sides facing up).

  5. Drizzle honey over each brie circle. Sprinkle the crushed nuts and the chopped cherries on the bottom brie circle. Close the two halves together so that the honey, cherries, and nuts are sandwiched within the brie wheel.

  6. Brush one of the Chēbē dough circles with egg wash. Place the brie wheel in the middle of that dough circle.

  7. Place the other Chēbē dough circle on top of the brie wheel. Gently press the top circle around the brie wheel, making tucks as needed.

  8. Cut excess dough away from around the covered wheel. Tuck the edges of the dough under the wheel, making tucks as needed. The entire wheel should be enclosed in dough.

  9. Using the extra dough, cut a heart shape and place it on top of the covered brie wheel. Brush the entire wheel with egg wash.

  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes. The dough should be lightly browned. Serve warm with gluten-free crackers, fruit, and entrees of your choice.
