Course: Dessert
Servings: 1 galette (about 6 slices)
Ingredients
Filling
  • 3 small apples - (eg. a combo of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp gluten free flour blend
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp light brown sugar
Crust
  • 1 package (7.5 oz) Chebe All-Purpose Bread Mix
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3 eggs (2 for dough, 1 for egg wash)
  • 4 Tbsp almond milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Wash and slice apples into very thin pieces. Add apples, brown sugar, sugar, salt, and flour to a bowl and toss to coat. Set aside.

  3. Combine the Chebe All Purpose Bread Mix, sugar, 2 eggs, milk, and oil in a mixing bowl. Stir to combine the ingredients.

  4. Pour the dough onto a clean work surface and knead until smooth, 1 – 2 minutes.

  5. Place a piece of waxed or parchment paper on the work surface, top with the dough and then another piece of waxed or parchment paper.

  6. Roll out into a 12-14 inch circle. Place the dough circle on a sheet of parchment paper on a baking pan.

  7. Pour the apple mixture onto the dough, arranging apples in a layer of circles, leaving a 2 inch border. Fold up the edges around the apples.

  8. Whisk one egg and brush a thin layer on the crust. If desired, sprinkle with about 1 tsp of sugar all around the crust.

  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the crust is slightly golden.

  10. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before cutting into triangles to serve.
